Editor Behavior and Rendering

This page explains which settings control Tydora's rendering capabilities and editing behavior, and where to adjust them.

Note

The Settings panel tabs are: General, Theme, Shortcuts, Image, Mind map, Knowledge graph, Canvas, Terminal, Publish, Vim Mode, About. There is no separate "Editor" tab — editing-related configuration is spread across the "General" and "Theme" tabs.

Rendering Toggles

The following capabilities are on by default in Tydora, and there is currently no UI toggle for them (they are permanently enabled in the configuration):

Note

The technical configuration options for these capabilities exist in the app's internal settings (stored in localStorage under zmd-editor-settings), but the Settings panel does not yet expose toggles for them. If you genuinely need to disable one, please file a request on GitHub Issues.

Editing Behavior Notes

Default Editing Mode

Files open in live preview (IR) mode by default. There is currently no "default editing mode" setting in the UI; to start in source mode, open the file and press Ctrl+/. See 02-Editor/01-Editing-Modes.

Word Count

The status bar at the bottom of the editor always shows the current document's word count — no need to enable it. With a split view, only the active pane is counted.

About Caching

Tydora has no "Clear cache" button. If you hit a rendering anomaly (styles not refreshing, diagrams not updating), try this order:

  1. Toggle the editing mode once (Ctrl+/) to force a repaint
  2. Fully quit and restart Tydora
  3. File it on GitHub Issues with a screenshot

About XSS Filtering

Tydora has no standalone "XSS filtering" toggle. Markdown rendering runs through a local pipeline, and HTML attribute values generated by WikiLinks and similar are escaped; even so, stay cautious when opening Markdown files from untrusted sources.
